Motivational Quotes for Most Successful People

You might have it hanging up in your office or on a Post-It near your computer. It is your go-to motivational quotation. These are some quotes that inspire accomplished leaders.

“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” — Steve Job

This quote is something I often think about. You are never done in business or life! It’s the adventure that makes it so much more exciting. The twists and turns, foolishness, and curiosity lead to discoveries that make our world better. Kara Goldin (Founder and CEO of Hint water)

“To whom much has been given, much will be required.” – Luke.

My grandmother used this paraphrased Bible verse as her life-long mantra. It is a reminder of how important it is to serve others every day. It was the inspiration for my public service career. I can keep my eyes on the Girl Scout mission of doing today’s girls and helping them become tomorrow’s leaders because of it. Anna Maria Chavez CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA

“If it’s worthwhile to do, it’s worth doing well.” — Lord Chesterfield

My paternal grandfather passed this philosophy to me by my paternal grandfather, who was one of the wisest men I have ever met. This belief has been a constant in my professional and personal life. It drives me to believe that everyone should strive to be the best they can be. Good is not the enemy of great in this endeavor. You don’t have to settle for “good” when you can achieve “great” with a little more effort and attention.

Set high standards and be demanding. Don’t be afraid to take risks, as you won’t have the perfect information. Execution speed is just as important as execution quality, and failures can be an opportunity to learn. — Johan de Nysschen, President, Cadillac and General Motors executive vice president

“Oh my god, what if you woke up one day and realize that you are 65 or 75 and have never written a novel or memoir? Or maybe you weren’t able to swim in warm oceans and pools all those years because of your thighs being jiggly and your stomach full of comfort; or perhaps you were so focused on perfection and pleasing people that you lost your creative life. It will break your heart. This is not something you should allow to happen.” Anne Lamott

This whole quote reminds us that our psychological baggage is only in our heads and not others. To let fear of the public or the pain of self-loathing prevent us from being our true brave selves capable of experiencing joy, love and peace are to miss the beauty of life! Stacy London Style expert, host on TLC’s Love Lust or Run and author of The Truth About Style

“Find or make a way.” — Hannibal

This is one of the core values that my team and I created around two and a quarter years ago. This is a quote from Hannibal, who won a war against an army of men and horses with all the odds against him. This is one of my favorite statements. It sums up everything I have done throughout my childhood to now. I have always been able to make things happen.

It’s the best thing I can hear to motivate myself to do something is to hear someone say, “No, we can’t do that.” I have learned that many people will immediately explain why something cannot be done throughout my career. This is far more frustrating than making it happen. I have a different perspective. Lisa Lutoff Perlo, President and Chief Executive Officer, Celebrity Cruises.

“Some people never go crazy. They must live horrible lives.

It is necessary to be willing to give up your comfort zone, love unconditionally, take on the challenge of losing, and be ready to risk everything to succeed in life. The people who play safe in life and business will never see the other side. They must live such horrible lives.

“I did then the things I knew how to do, and when I realized better, I did better.” — Maya Angelou

This Maya Angelou quote is why it has always resonated with my heart. It’s about trying your best, giving your best effort and making the most of what you have. It’s about acknowledging and accepting that you are imperfect, as well as embracing it with a growth-minded mindset.

This quote is a constant reminder of the wisdom that it offers. It applies to all aspects of my life: personal, professional, and most importantly, as a mom. Try your best, forget about the mistakes and do it again. — Meg Roberts President, Molly Maid
